Impact of curvature-induced Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction on magnetic vortex texture in spherical caps

The geometric curvature of nanoscale magnetic shells brings about curvature-induced anisotropy and Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (DMI). Here, we derive equations to describe the profile vortex state in a spherical cap. We demonstrate that azimuthal component magnetization acquires finite tilt at edge cap, which results increase surface energy. This is different compared case closed shell, where symmetry texture does not allow any equator sphere. Furthermore, analyze size core cap show presence DMI leads independent product circulation polarity vortex. contrast planar disks with intrinsic DMI, preferred direction as well decrease or determined by sign respect constant DMI.
